Telogen Effluvium

Acute TE (Telogen Effluvium) is usually a result of an acute illness or shock or injury to the scalp or even immune system issues. Acute TE would shed about 300-400 hairs per day. It would be normal to expect acute TE to last around 2 months following acute illness or possibly acute stress.

The bad news is that in the short term there is nothing that can be done to stop acute TE as the hair currently being lost entered the telogen phase already. The good news is it usually only lasts around 8 weeks or slightly longer depending on the patient’s immune system.

Injecting the scalp with plasma and using pills and potions are unlikely to stop or slow the acute loss. Theradome will not stop it immediately either but it should help with reducing the hair shedding and eventually regrowth. Unfortunately, with Acute TE, you just have to wait until it passes.

Again, this is for Acute TE which is a bit more advanced than regular TE, so I would ask them if this is NOT Acute TE, then the Theradome will help a lot more.

We recommend wearing the Theradome as much as possible and the maximum we have seen some customers with this condition is two times a day (12 hours apart or so between treatments) with great results.
